Updating and maintaining websites
If your web designer suggests building a static site, run the other way!
There was a time when building pages in Dreamweaver was a reasonable way to construct a website, but that time is past.
By having others give you feedback along the way, you may be able to avoid surprise problems surfacing at the end of the project.
Watch a few people go through your site and encourage them to give you verbal feedback as they browse the site. The site will run off of a local hard drive just as it will over the Web.
If you are building a new website, make sure you (and your staff) are going to be able to add and edit content, without technical knowledge.
Don’t wait until you are finished with your site to conduct usability testing.Websites are most effective if they are kept up-to-date.
